Beaten

Children have the right to protection from being physically harmed and should not be made to feel badly by what people say. The child has the right to be protected from physical violence or inappropriate language and hurtful words.  I think that this right is being violated in the world more nowadays. Take for example the stabbing that happened in Abbotsford.

In the book the Breadwinner, when the main character Parvana went to go free her father from jail with her mother, she was stopped by Taliban soliders at the front gate of the jail. There, the Taliban soliders started verbally harassing Parvana and her mother, then started hitting them with sticks. This made me feel nauseated with disgust.

This is violating the Rights of the Child, because these soliders are using physical violence and harming Parvana and her mom. Parvana just asked where to find her father, and they just began hitting and beating her mother. When Parvana tried to help her mother, they beat her with a stick too. If it were my mother I would have asked them to stop and been beaten too.

I think people should just solve their issues with words. I think women should be allowed to have an equal voice to men, and children should never be beaten. How can someone feel good about hurting someone who is smaller and weaker than them? What can we do stop this problem in the world?
